A apresentação está preparada para 40 minutos, podendo ter uma duração ligeiramente inferior ou superior (30 a 50 minutos). É destinada ao secundário (10º a 12º) ou básico (7º a 9º), adaptando-se o conteúdo consoante o caso.
Nesta palestra chama-se a atenção para a forma como obtemos o nosso conhecimento do Universo, nomeadamente para a ferramenta mais importante ao nosso dispor: a espetroscopia.
TEORIA: Usa da espetroscopia para conhecer a composição química dos astros, o seu movimento (efeito Doppler), a sua temperatura (leis de Wien e de Stefan-Boltzmann), e para tirar conclusões indiretas, como o tipo de astro de que se trata, a sua idade ou a sua distância à Terra.
PRÁTICA: Será levado um espetrógrafo para a palestra, podendo a audiência observar nesse aparelho espetros luminosos emitidos por diferentes objetos.
Disponibilidade de horário: Terças ou quartas-feiras, a qualquer hora. Quintas-feiras, de manhã.
